Virgina Museum of Fine Arts

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a "mini Met" with collections that span over 5000 years of humankind's creative achievements. Currently under a transformative expansion VMFA will open on May 1, 2010. The new VMFA will have four acres of museum under roof with two restaurants, a 3 1/2 acre sculpture garden, special exhibitions, and lots to do and see. Admission to the museum and permanent collections is always free. Special exhibitions and programs are ticketed.

Maymont Park

Maymont is a 100-acre American estate, an extraordinary gift given to the state of Virginia by James and Sallie Dooley who lived here from 1893 to 1925. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion or watching river otters play, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
